Three people, two hundred and fourteen zones, one rule
The rule is that the age of a reading is always shown at least as prominently as the reading. Everything else is negotiable.
Hydro started in 2022 by parsing the utility’s published test results out of PDFs. Three people, two hundred and fourteen supply zones, and about nineteen thousand readings on file.
The app is free to households, has no advertising, requires no account and collects no location unless you choose a zone yourself. Strip tests are sold at what they cost us. The bulk feed is what pays for the three of us.
We do not tell anybody their water is safe. We show what was measured, when, by whom and by what method, and we make the date impossible to miss. Thirty-one zones are grey today and that is a coverage failure we publish monthly rather than smooth over.

Every reading carries its method and precision. I can filter strip tests out.
Free, no account, no advertising, and it does not ask for my location.
Thirty-one zones are grey. They publish that number monthly, at least.
